Good to Know

Frequently Asked

Everything we keep getting texted about — answered here, once.

What's the dress code?+

Cretan farm chic. Agreco is a working stone-built farm in the hills above Rethymno — think linen suits, flowing dresses, breathable fabrics in warm, earthy tones that sit well against olive groves, terracotta and old timber. The ceremony and dinner are outdoors on uneven stone paths and gravel, so please skip stiletto heels (your future self will thank you). Block heels, wedges and smart sandals are perfect, and bring a light layer for after sunset.

Will it be hot?+

Likely 26–30°C in the late afternoon, cooling to a beautiful 20°C by dinner. A light shawl or jacket for after sunset is a good idea.

Are children invited?+

The wedding day itself is adults-only so you can fully let your hair down. Day two is a relaxed family-friendly gathering and little ones are very welcome. If you're travelling with kids, the Grecotel Caramel just along the coast is a brilliant family-friendly base (see the Travel page for the link).

Can I bring a plus-one?+

Due to the intimate scale of the venue, we can only welcome the guests named on your invitation. We hope you understand.

How do I get to the venue?+

Complimentary coaches will leave from designated Rethymno hotels at 15:30 and return at 01:30. We strongly suggest you take them — the wine, the raki, and the winding roads do not mix.

What about getting around Crete?+

If you're staying longer, renting a car is the easiest way to explore. Book early — September is still high season. Public buses run between Rethymno, Chania and Heraklion.

Do I need to bring cash?+

Most places take cards, but smaller tavernas and the morning bakery are cash-only. ATMs are easy to find in Rethymno town.
